When Alyce and I decided to downsize, she found the property at 406 Pueblo West. After having it remodeled with a bulldozer and donating the usable materials to Habitat For Humanity, we went on the search for a builder-contractor. We knew we needed a builder who would do it our way, was financially stable, worked with quality material suppliers and subcontractors, and had an industry reputation of quality and respect. We found this combination in Scott Jones… a true native of the area. Alyce's house is a totally different design… a lot different than ‘normal’ builder work. Scott took on the work without question. Construction started in February of 2005 and was finished in October that same year. The result is the Alyce Mantel House… as well-planned and well-built a home as the one that recently won Scott Jones the ‘Distinctive Plan and Design Award’ from the Home Builders Association.
